The short version: what you send stays yours. We won't show your drawings, quotations or supplier correspondence to manufacturers, suppliers or prospective partners to progress your product without your permission, and we won't use your material in marketing without your written consent.
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you send C&S Product Sourcing (“C&S”, “we”) material about a product idea for a Product Idea Review or a related enquiry. That material may include a completed workbook, drawings, specifications, photographs, supplier quotations, supplier correspondence, sales figures or other commercial information.
By submitting material you accept these terms. If you need different terms, tell us before you send anything.
2. Confidentiality
We treat non-public commercial material you submit for the review as confidential.
We will not send your drawings, quotations, supplier correspondence or other confidential information to manufacturers, suppliers, prospective commercial partners or other third parties to progress your product without your permission.
We will not use your confidential material in marketing, case studies, social media or public examples without your written consent.
Access within C&S is limited to those who need the material to carry out your review.
Confidentiality does not apply to information that is already public, becomes public other than through us, you have disclosed publicly yourself, or we already held before you sent it. We may also disclose material where we are required to by law, a court or a regulator — and if we are permitted to tell you, we will.
3. Your idea stays yours
You keep ownership of the material you submit and of the intellectual property in it. Submitting it does not transfer ownership of anything to C&S, and reviewing it gives us no right to make, use or sell your product.
4. Working with other businesses in the same category
We work across many product categories, and we may work with other businesses in the same industry or category as you — provided your confidential information is not used or disclosed. Work we developed independently, or already held before your submission, is not restricted by these terms.
5. Third-party material you send us
You must have the right to share any third-party confidential information you submit. If something you want to send is covered by someone else's confidentiality obligation, don't send it unless you're permitted to.
6. How long we keep it
Working material is normally retained for up to 12 months after your review is completed, unless further work is underway or retention is otherwise reasonably required.
You can ask us to delete it earlier. We'll do that where reasonably possible, subject to legal, accounting, operational and record-retention requirements. Routine backups may persist until they're overwritten in their normal cycle.
7. Security, and how to submit
We take reasonable steps to protect submissions, but no electronic system is completely risk-free.
Send your material by email to CodyYu@csproductsourcing.com.au. Where files are too large to attach, send a share link instead.
If your material is particularly sensitive, contact us before you send it.
8. Non-disclosure agreements
You're welcome to ask for an NDA before sending particularly sensitive information.
We're willing to consider a reasonable NDA, but a proposed NDA isn't automatically accepted — its terms have to be agreed by both of us first. If you want an NDA in place, don't disclose the sensitive information until it's signed.
9. What the review is, and what it isn't
The Product Idea Review is an independent commercial opinion based on the material you supply: a written assessment of the commercial case as presented, the risks, assumptions and gaps we can see, and a view on what should be established before money is committed.
It is not:
- legal, financial, tax, engineering, product safety or regulatory advice;
- a patent, trade mark or design search, or any form of intellectual property clearance;
- a certification, compliance assessment or test report;
- supplier research, a factory audit, or a quotation;
- a guarantee of commercial success, manufacturing outcome, supplier performance, sales, profitability or regulatory approval.
Obtain specialist advice where your product requires it. Decisions you make after reading the review are yours.
The review reflects the information provided. If something material is missing or inaccurate, the review will reflect that.
10. Timing
We aim to deliver the written review within 5 business days of receiving a sufficiently complete submission, followed by a 30-minute call and one follow-up email within 7 days of that call.
If a submission doesn't contain enough to review, we'll tell you what's missing rather than guess. The 5 business days run from the point we confirm your submission is sufficiently complete.
11. Fees
The Product Idea Review is AUD $249, or AUD $200 if you've already purchased the C&S Product Feasibility Workbook. Fees are payable in advance.
If we conclude we're not the right people to review your idea and don't carry out the review, we'll refund you.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. We collect it only to deliver the service you've asked for and to contact you about it. We don't sell it, and we don't add you to a marketing list without your consent.
13. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), including the Australian Consumer Law, where those cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Changes, and governing law
We may update these terms. The version published here at the time you submit material is the version that applies to that submission.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
